Easter Sunday is an incredible opportunity to present the Gospel to families in your community and introduce them to your church. And since we’re in kids ministry, we can do it with fun and lots of creativity!

Here are some things to keep in mind as you face the “iceberg” of preparing for Easter Sunday!

Lean into creativity and point kids to the Gospel!

The beauty of children’s ministry is that we can share the Good News with children and have fun doing it! Choose a theme that students can relate to but that can also get the message of the Gospel across in a language they understand. Whatever your theme may be, simply present the truth that Jesus died for us and rose again so that we could have new life.

Let the kids have fun!

During the busy schedule you’ve meticulously planned out, make sure there is time for just plain fun! Whether it’s an egg hunt, candy rain or candy cannon, always make sure there’s time for students to have a fun and memorable experience.

Follow up with guests

If you don’t already have one already, Easter Sunday is a great opportunity to start a follow-up system for first time guests. Kids love mail! Make it a goal to send first-time students on Easter a note thanking them for coming and a gift card to a fast food restaurant or toy store.
